Well, since putting my beast back on the road, we have finally taken the van out for a camping trip. A nice family camping weekend was decided on so we went for a trip from London to the Brecon Beacons in Wales. We loaded it up and headed down there yesterday morning. The T4 with its new engine made easy work of the drive and managed a happy 80mph all the way there.

We booked in, and set up at the campsite which although was in a stunning location... the site itself wasn't all that. 'temporary' toilets and showers nearest to us and the main block were in need of renovation. We had a family next to us that didn't understand that the playing field opposite is a better place to play football rather than right next to our van and awning. Thankfully though the van wasn't hit so no lives were lost. Then opposite another family moved in that must have bought their whole cannabis farm with them to smoke!

Anyway, all of that I can live with. I am no stranger to camping and I know that sometimes you suffer these things to wake up to stunning views that a 5 star hotel would struggle to find. However, the little monster that is my daughter decided that now was a time to feel really ill and get so upset sleeping would not be an option. In the end, we called it a day and headed for home.. As it has been a while since we last camped, we at least dusted off some cobwebs as far as camping goes, and we learnt a few tip and tricks for what might help with a sick and grumpy child...

Here's hoping for next time...
