This is my new Norwegian steed. We had a good 2014 going round in my UK registered Syncro "Syd" but now my son has been born, the local authorities say I can't drive any foreign registered vehicles here! Bugger! Rather than pay the £6000 in import duties to get Syd over here, we found this. A 1998 Westfalia California Exclusive 2.5 TDI with just over 100k miles on the clock. We seen this same van when I first moved over and it was for sale just up the road in Bodø. Normally you have to travel to the end of the world to find anything decent and cheap over here. Sadly it got snapped up and we bought a Volvo. Anyhoo, a few months later, I was trawling through Finn.no (great site for hidden Norwegian treasure) and it popped up again. The fella who bought it only wanted it for the summer. He already had two more T4's he was doing up (good man). It was back up for sale at the same price so we had to have it, it was fate. Anyway I'll use this page to show how far up north we get though 2016. We did a lot of the south in 2014 and a baby got in the way this year so fingers crossed we get out a bit more. Already i'm amazed the power of the 2.5 TDI compared to the sluggish 2.4 even with all the Westfalia weight. Just got a few things to sort out so its ready for winter over here plus things like the headlight loom upgrade and replacing the solar panels that have been removed at some stage. Just need a name now
