  • bottom pulley

hi i started changing my headgasket and noticed the bottom pulley is shot. is anyone running a solid one off another engine. i have a machine shop by me that said they could make me a alloy one but was wondering if a soild pulley would be ok.

    Ally wouldn't do the job.

Solid would probably kill the crank pulley keyway pretty quick.

    I've a bottom pulley here for a 1.9

If its the outter pulley with the outside part with the rubber damper you need to change like for like.

That's it. Best replace have seen a lot of those let go. You don't want it rubbing its way though the timing belt cover. Had a transit it in that had destroyed the alloy timing cover and exposed the chain.
