Hello,
Just bought a Caravelle. After the long journey the first morning at my place. Pick it up from Cologne, and 300 km pulled with my poor Caddy.
4224
Conversion in to camping bus for my family.
Some upgrade will come in 2-3 months, to match better the needs of traveling during vacations. Becouse the Caravelle already has an option to fold the seats making a bed, the main reason for upgrade is to gain more storage space. And some transformed table for coffee break. No any kind of kitchen have in my plans.

Yesterday stripped of side panels and found some strange object under it.., above back wheel arch. Like a plastic tank with the wires connection and fuse.
4225
Some ideas about it?
Thanks.

The betontriplex plates are glued on with Makroflex (PU foam).
4226
Total thickness of "sandwich" ~11-12 mm. And it's waterproof, sound proof and strong enough. Next step is vinyl floor.

Hello,
Keeping with upgrade of rear seats. As I mentioned extra storage space is the priority question. Triple back seats are changed to the double. And they are litle modified. The support frame is welded.
4302
And the lower part (legs) of seats frame are cut of.
4304
Before amputation of legs, the top part of seats frame reinforced.
4305

It's how it will look when finished.
4306
The seats will hang together with the support frame on the rear wheel arches.

Short stay in France.Lovely job. Is the roof tent something you've built yourself? Have you owned and converted a Ford Sierra recently?

We all love what your doing with your ride, it's "different" which for me is fantastic.... plus it's a self-build so the updates are enjoyable to see - so no distraction intended! [emoji106]

Never really considered a roof tent but at a financial level it looks like a good buy?

Yes my friend. And not necessary to destroy the roof of the bus. Just pay attention the way it's folding. The one I have is hydraulic. So you just open the lock ad it unfolds.

You will see a lot of Beauty in that time, if I had two weeks I would do Gower, Pembrokeshire coast, across the Preselis to Cardigan, up the coast road from Cardigan to Aberaeron for fish and chips, Newquay Harbour for some Dolphin spotting then on to Aberystwyth/ the Famous Borth, then up towards the Llyn Penninsula before meandering your way through Snowdonia and then on the way home taking in Devils Bridge, Elan Valley, Sugar Loaf Mountains along the A40 to the turn off at Sennybridge for Pen Y Fan and the Brecon Beacons 🤙🏽

When I was a wee 18 year old Farm Hand/Delivery driver one of my routes was from Trecastle to Leominster then back to Llandovery off then via Llandeilo to Lampeter up to Cardigan along the coast road to Pwhelli for my last drop then back through Snowdonia across the Army Range to Fedw. We sold whole grain animal feed for show stock and general stock. I was stockman as well and won The Royal and Royal Welsh [emoji1303]

If you do end up in Pembrokeshire I can highly recommend caerfai bay st davids, beach on your door step, pubs/restaurants 10 mins walk away, you can just about see the parking area in the top right of the photo or there's a campsite literally just behind if your not wild camping, it's a lovely view from the top, a few beverages in the evening watching the tankers sail by, bliss! Quiet down there at night too :D
Hope you enjoy your holiday :very_drunk::very_drunk:
