  • New tyres and other stuff

    Hi all
Need to get new tyres and have sort of settled on
    Continental van contact 200 205/65/R15 99T
    XL. Web Reviews seem good.
Anybody else have any experience of them good or bad?
Need them sorted in about a week as gotta do work on my daily drive Rav4 Mot failed.
Nearly swore at em when it failed and got the Toyota costings for the work Front discs and pads one shocker leaking, differential oil seal and center box on exhaust.£2,384.48
    Centre box making up £1600.00
I've got it down to £700 them doing the diff seal
Local exhaust company doing the box and me doing the rest.
    Shocking.

You could get a stainless knocked up for a couple of hundred.

Yeah they couldn't be bothered doing it likely that it's easier and more profitable to do a full one.
              Exhaust is getting done today.
              Pennies by comparison.
              Stainless on the T4 £350.00
Cat back twin exit stainless from cybox on Wirral
              What a difference.

I had a similar issue with a Toyota Celica GT4 in the 90's, it failed the MOT and Toyota wanted stupid money for the CAT element of the system and Toyota were insistent that "there was no other option than the OEM part" . Removed the section and got one made up with a sports CAT for a fraction of the cost. Never went back. Manufacturers have a lot to answer for, its a rip-off culture.

Unfortunately I will have to go back and have the rear diff oil seal done and the Mot partial test.
Won't be seeing me there again.
Nowt wrong with the cars but definitely the dealers.
Never mind I will be cracking on with the the van again soon I really hope.
