  • Oil presure switch leak?

What I assume is the oil pressure switch in the head is covered in oil. In fact a few inches below where the single wire goes into some shrouding looks as if the shroud is a pipe full of oil.
Does this point to a new switch being needed?

It sounds like it yes. They have a tendency to leak through the plastic loom connector

So can any one clarify this. Mine has a brown end with a normal spade connector. The one supplied is black with a thin pin connector. I am assured, and much checking was done, that this is correct. The supplied one is like this
          https://www.eurocarparts.com/search/...xoCLYYQAvD_BwE

but black. The black shroud is hard and D shaped when looked at from the cable end. Mine is like this

Is someone somewhere misunderstanding things. The supplied one matches my engine type according to the suppliers but its had a replacement but identical engine bunged in a few years ago.
Not sure what to do now. Anyone with a 1.9 TD engine able to confirm?

Just been out to check what I've got on mine. It looks the same as your 2nd picture.

Our 1.9ABL has a blue one on the head with spade fitting and a white one on the filter housing also with a spade fitting.

Ah. So mine is wrong anyway.
It has the brown on the head.
Off to swap it for the correct one

Sorted thank you. Not helped by doing this after I had done the oil change and dropping a socket onto the engine tray. Grrrr
