18 inch 2016 jeep wheels (that I've only ever even one image of) and 225/45/18 I believe (because they sit nicely on the rim)

      • This is looking nice, Nate. Think I'll get me some of that wax!

Doesn't look too bad to me. You're compromising the ride and tracking too much by dropping down further but if you want a bit more 'stance', you can wind the torsion bars at the front.

They are down 20mm on the bars so 50mm drop.

            • Went to Quex Vw Show today, parked up and ebetered the Show & Shine, first person who came over to me was a mechanic who worked at the garage I bought the van from. He was really complimentary about how far I'd come along with it. Picked up a stainless side exit exhaust for £70 too and saw some good friends and awesome vw's so happy days.

Taking the beast to Grill n Chill later in the year so will make up a project board showing how far we've come along from the battered van I started with.

                • Fixed my amp and sub enclosure, after stripping it down and rebuilding it, plugging it all back in it still sounded awful. Left it plugged in and running and started taking a back plate off it when I realised there was a screw fixing the backing plate to the sub through the magnet, unscrewed that and it works perfectly. Sounds great.

                    • So jobs for the weekend and next week are:
                      Finish interior trim.
                      Egr removal.
                      Fit side exit exhaust.
Remove front bumper, drivers wing and build an air intake from the wing vents to airbox.
                      Adjust the gear linkage.
Install a switch for the amp (as it's constantly illuminated

                          • Is the amp on the remote line from the head?

Shouldn't really need/have a switch fitted to it

Yeah it is but it has a logo that is constantly illuminated. I don't want to run the risk of flattening the battery.

                              • Tackled a few jobs over the last two days.
First was repairing the broken passenger door handle. A small piece had snapped off the inside stopping me from being able to lock and unlock it. Had a Salvage door handle off my spare door, knocked out the split pin, swapped the pieces over split pin back in, job done.
This morning I removed the bumper, grill and drivers wing (I wasn't happy with the way it fitted anyway) whilst it was off I made up a temporary internal inlet scoop out of left over silentcoat (if it works well I'll remove it again and make it out of fibreglass).

Bolted all back up again and got the wing fitted better. Much happier.
Next job was egr removal but that has stalled because the wrong blanking plates were sent out.
So I took the old exhaust off to make way for the new decat side exit exhaust.
Removing the old one was easy enough, fitting the new one was a mammoth task. Couldn't get all three flange bolts to screw in, two went in, one (the most awkward one to get to) would not screw through the flange so after an hour or so of cursing I decide to drill the hole out, did that and it all went together perfectly. A few manipulations of the heat guard and it runs nicely, it growls and is a touch loud but I like it. Click image for larger version

Last job was to adjust the gear selector, so followed a guide I found online. Seems a bit better but time will tell.
