  • Pallet wood

Just managed to fill the pick up with pallets from Tesco in Merthyr, saw them when I parked up all dry stored, thin slat type. I asked at customer services if they were heading for a skip as I'd like them for my conversion and got told I'd have to ask the duty manager, turns out he was a fellow dubber happy days, every little helps [emoji23]

Any pics of yours Mr fox-acre? I've done a couple of panels with coffee sacks my mate imported from South America, well he imported the coffee and I got the sacks. When I get it back from the sprayers the rest begins, the interior was a bit tired when I got it a few years back, now it might as well be asleep.

Looks really nice. Love the coffee sacks. Want to cover my seats with them but haven't had time to source them.
see my build thread for photos, dual purpose van...I think that's what it's called.
what you doing with the pallets?

I'm intending to replace all the existing mdf panels with pallet wood, plus make a window surround for the non sliding side window. I'll use some to add some shelving too as at the moment I have none, I rescued a wooden core sample box (used to store cores taken from the ground to see if a mahoosive turbine can be put up without falling over) from a windfarm in South Wales, I wish I'd blagged more of them, it will make an excellent small storage unit cum shelf, will post picks of it when I get home at the end of the week. I want to replace the chequered flooring with wood but only in the visible area to save on weight. The other thing I want to use the pallet wood for is to make a cable tray along the step down from the cab to the back area, if that makes sense.

I've converted a completely dead space that was at the foot of the bed into a storage cupboard, before I did this it was completely sealed unit, madness in such a small van. I can imagine the sacks on seats being super itchy daftdub!

The metal frame was already in, but completely sealed off, like I said dead space, I got the aluminium off eBay and the led, the socket was salvaged off an instrument on a meteorological mast, which I work on, you can see there are two styles of tambour door, that's because they were free too, well I think I swapped for a charge controller I had knocking about in the end.
