Very soon, my problem at the moment is I dont want to tap into the vans tank as I dont see the point in running it on expensive white when red is in plentiful supply for me. So I need to sort out a suitable tank (I have my eyes on one) and work out where to mount that before mounting the heater. The tank that came with the heater is ridiculous in size and shape.

I did think about mounting the heater or the tank in the engine bay next to the battery, and second battery in either under a seat or in the rear cupboard. Problem with this heater (that I know now) is that its a 5KW one and Its massive! I should of held out for a 2KW unit but the 5kw's were actually cheaper at the time. So im looking at possibly mounting it underneath in a stainless box (very kindly supplied by work)

I'm sure plenty of people on here are running one of these, I opted for the simple controller rather than the digital one thinking theres less to go wrong but I dont think the controllers are the issue with these heaters its usually cheap glow plugs and sooting up that causes the most problems.

A few of my test rig, the lads in work were made up with this running all night.

And if it works a video, the heaters actually pretty quiet its the fuel pump thats noisy. I did read switching to a genuine eberspacher pump mount helps alot.

          • Small update,

Got the T-Trim finished on the cupboard doors and i'm very impressed with how it looks and finishes everthing off. Even the colour works well with everything else. And doors starting to go on but still lots of adjustment to do there.

Next up is the leisure system, I've held off for now buying a battery as im not sure where is the best place to locate it. I was thinking of building a second battery tray for the engine bay but it really does limit the size of battery you can use. So it may be under the passenger seat for now. I've also been debating the location of the heater (under the van, under the rnr bed, in a cupboard or under a seat),

Since this thing is HUGE! I didnt think it would fit under the drivers seat but after trying it ive managed to squeeze it in. Its really tight with the tank underneath but it should hopefully get everything in just fine.

Almost a perfect fit, I'm planning on putting a rear trim board on the seat base and fitting a proper heater vent.

From the front of the seat,

From the rear of the van, should run nicely into the living area.

I would be interested in how you fit the heater as wouldn’t mine putting one in ours. Vans looking mint.
