As I said before you are doing a great job, keep it up and keep the thread going. I have a friend that is into trialing with a landrover, he has built several competition trucks and he to is experimenting with a similar vacuum process to make jel coat carbon fiber panels for his latest beast, as they will be much lighter and stronger. The vacuum in his case draws any bubbles out but also draws the resin between the carbon fiber which once cured becomes very ridged. Keep up the good work

That's another reason why I bought the vacuum degassing system .......... with the vacuum pump it's pretty simple setting up a resin infusion system. As I'll be looking into supplying full carbon fibre headlight covers also. My suppliers also stock Kevlar, Kevlar really has a unique look about it, so I may look into making some of them as well.

Some of these options for finishes will be quite interesting actually, as you can get carbon fibre in a variety of colours now.

I mean every word Sir. Kudos to you. I suspect you may be correct about the fiscal aspect but one day people WILL talk about "Turk" headlights like the do about the project zwo stuff. I am sure if it.

Well lets hope that people talk about 'TURK's' headlights for being a great product, and not the biggest white elephant in recent times !

At first I was quite happy to be compared to ProjektZwo .......... but I can tell you that even my prototype headlights at the moment, will knock spots off the short nose version of the ProjektZwo's. I've got an immaculate set of those here, treid them on my van and I can tell you I wasn't very impressed. In fact, I was wondering what all the fuss was about. Just because they're hard to get hold of and fetch silly money, doesn't mean they're good. They just look nice.

Notice how sharp and defined the cut-off is on the low beams, and how the high beams actually have a focal point, and not scattered light everywhere. It's also interesting to point out that that test was run with only 11.2 volts at the time, as I hadn't worked out the wiring loom I was planning yet. So, at 14.4 volts ( over 3 volts more ), is what we'll be getting with these 'new' Hella's ......

Just crack on with them. I will be having a set (formally put me on the list please) and further more, when you are at the production stage and require materials I will pay for mine upfront
Given that mine will require matriculation/homologacion for itv purposes, and I will probably be the first to test that water, I hearby pledge my support to help crossing that bridge. They are bound to have something to say and I will probably need an engineer's report but if I can help, I will.

What type of bus you got ? ......... took a look at your details, but it doesn't mention if you have a long nose or short nose version. The engineers report sounds interesting. I'm OK for funds Arfur no worries in that department. I'll have a fair bit of testing to do at my end as well, but all that will be posted up on the project .......... unlike some manufacturers who tend to exaggerate or even falsify their findings, mine will be as is ................

Maybe you should invite suggestions for a name.

Good thinking Arfur .......... already been through that on the other site, ran it like a competition .............

I won't be using the name 'TURK' or anything related to it, for the same reason that some people already think I'm Turkish !!!

Some members on the other forum came up with some very interesting suggestions, nothing that really peaked my interest though. A lot of people were suggesting things along the lines of 'Project-TURK Lights', but I only see that as a spin-off of 'ProjektZwo' who used to manufacture quad headlights for the T4. I truly believe that a product should describe what the product is or what it does, as an example, if you had never heard of 'ProjektZwo' how would you even know that they made quad headlights, and where to go to buy them !?

My reasoning is, as I'm using Hella units in my design and they are quad headlights ........ it would seem logical to call them 'Hella Quad Headlights'.

And as I'm making various versions using different Hella units, that name will be followed by 'Series'.

So you would get the following;

Hella Quad Headlights - Classic Series
Hella Quad Headlights - Performance Series
Hella Quad Headlights - Ultimate Series


May sound a little boring, but it's straight to the point .......... what do people think ?
