Getting bored yet...? Following on from Build - Part IV This is a cut down version of the article VW T4&5+ Bus Magazine printed on Bongo Fury, my 'quick' camper, giving the idea of the T17.club
Part 5. Inside.....

Being a bit of an SQ nut, I need a decent ICE system, which all starts with a good head unit. The double DIN Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD sits in the lower dash unit, this is controlled from custom micro-switches embedded in the steering column stalks, controlled by a home built wired remote. The Carling switches on the dash allow control of the cab and rear sound zones, by turning on a combination of the four Genesis amps hidden under the double passenger seat. Cab speakers are currently still in the OEM dash position and the rear speakers are Rainbow Germanium’s, a set in the back doors and another pair sitting in custom roof mounted pods, either side of the 19” drop down LCD display. A stealth, twin 8" JL sub box, supplies surprisingly powerful bass, this is hidden between the T4Life full run furniture and 3/4 rock 'n' roll bed. All this runs either from the leisure battery, mounted on a twin tray under the bonnet, or directly from hook-up under the bonnet, using the split charger under the drivers seat.

Everything has finally come together, engine, cab, ICE and camping furniture. Driving her now she is finished feels very strange, as she has not been back together like this for a long time, it’s very satisfying…

…I say finished, but we still need to address the gearbox being too short in the leg. Plans are in action to mate a 6 speed T5 box, as well as a GT2260 turbo and another trip to Dirty Torque for a tweak of the maps. All of which should equal more ponies and a better time down the track. I can’t wait!
