Hi all,
Had the lwb transporter van for just over 12 months, blank canvas more or less, been to some of the shows, got some great ideas. Haven't been able to most of the work, although am pretty mechanical (due to work commitments).
It was pretty unloved when I got it, in fact it was really unloved, I guess that's what you would expect.
It's a 2.5 petrol automatic, used for carting the youngest to weekend downhill trials, the odd trip to the blue and yellow place, its low so it can get under the barrier at the tip.
So far engine and body wise:
Straight away new cam belt and water pump etc, followed by two petrol injectors (ouch)
Lowered with coil-overs.
Mercedes rims, diamond cut rims and painted
Lined
Chrome sidebars.
New stainless exhaust system (sounds like a mad box of frogs) its loud, great driving in the outside lane next to the concrete barriers on the M5
Changed lights to the led ones, still growing on me. Also replaced the halogen bulbs for led versions
New re up holstered front and rear (nearly complete) seats
Reverse sensors
Music system of course.
Today I go to get the gearbox serviced, it's an automatic box, bit shonky but still going, so no really looking at replacing it (the gearbox)until gasps it's last breath.
So far stretched as far as Cornwall, wales and the dales, still going well, fuel wise to be honest the only time I look is if and when I got big hills to climb.
Thanks for listening
