Hey t4 land. Just thought I would say hi on here as I posted up in the technical section yesterday and never said hello in here first !!
If anyone could advise a good t4 specialist near Wakefield West Yorkshire that can help with VCDS stuff, although I believe my van maybe an oddball as it’s a 1998 and doesn’t have the digital dash it’s got the green back light one?? I guess this means that there is less in the way of complicated electronics ???

Yes your right not meny electrics on the 98 about the same amount as your old bug

I have a 2.5 Tdi 102 acv engine

That should have new fangled ECU's then shouldn't it? You should do an ABL conversion.

I would agree there s49. I think i go into default mode then talking t4 and that a default of abl

Think our dash lights up green. No oil or service indicators or rev counter. Got an OBD plug put my code reader on and its like me the lights on but nobody home.

It’s an old school dash with green back light, it has a diagnostics port on the dash but it’s by your left hand by the ashtray

Sounds like our dash. If its a TDI you should have an ECU to talk to. Not too familiar with the 2.5 Reg or Activ would be the chaps to ask. They'll be along at some point.

It’s defo an ACV as it’s on the log book as one. Just concerned as it’s got a belt issue and it smokes a bit when it’s cold so I want to sort it before mot time . Sorry for all the questions but how will it work with the new mot tests and diesel vans ??
