Aren’t all the 1.9s 2.4s four speed ( 5 gears) I.e 4 forward 1 back?

5th will be in there somewhere it probably needs some gear link bushes i now mine was difficult to find gears. when i got mine for instance reverse was somewhere over by the passenger wing mirror and second behind the passenger seat fitting new bushes and a short shift mod and now it nice and close. But as for being more nippy check out reg cheeseman.

I may be wrong but were some early ones 4 speed? The Volvo 340 4 speed had a higher top speed than the 5 speed model...............i'll get me coat.

Hello and welcome.

My mates got a 1.9TD. We de-catted it, blanked the EGR, changed the air filter, and turned the turbo up a little bit. It 's quicker for sure, but then we weren't after a racing car. Not sure what the BHP is, but I reckon it's around 80ish. As standard I think there 68?

That's it, I've counted all 68 going up hills. Joking aside think ours goes fine and all we've done is bin the EGR.
