so some of you probably know of this van im told its been around abit !
sometime last year on a very frosty morning my old man told me that after some drunken ebay bidding he had won a t4 wow i thought this will be a fun project.
so we pick her up, at one point in her life she was a high top but on the day we picked it up she had half a roof welded on and a large piece of perspex siliconed on over the drivers seats which leaked alot.
this is the first picture we took some work may have already started.
so first off no mot, lots and lots of welding various parts a windscreen later we get that sorted and shes road worthy, next jobs cambelt water pump full service, a new stater motor and ignition switch and we have a very tatty but mechanically sound 2.4d van.
so drive it around for a while then the dash catches fire !!!! the rear window heater had somewhere along the line been cut off and was shorting on the body and eventually melted the wiring from the fuse box and caught fire.
so fixed that and totally re did the dash at this point changing the colour to black whilst it was all out.
on to the body work,
more welding filling sanding and primer and things start to take shape.
next the roof, this large piece of leaking perspex has to go so a very nice universal sunroof is purchased and fitted with once again more welding to make it fit water tight,
over the next 6 months of warm weather the paint goes on there are various modifications made new lights new wheels some decals window tints interior converted to a camper again with bed, fridge , two ring cooker loads of blood sweat tears and money is spent but its been fun ill let the pictures speak as i have probably missed alot of things out, just happy to have saved a van from the scrap heap or broken for parts weve been on a few camping trips and this week are off to brean sands touch wood she keeps going for a while.
sorry for any spelling grammar mistakes im not the most educated person but give me some manual things to do and ill make it work
thanks for reading
